Springtime Fabric Blitz!
Curious bunnies want to know what we’ve been up to!
Our creative team has put together a few Easter projects for you today. All winter we’ve been busy creating new fabric collections, a new Quilt Blocks design, Quiltologie mini quilts and even some new needlework! In the next few weeks, the new kits and fabrics will be in the stores and I’ll be introducing them here and on Facebook. We have four free projects to share. They’re all quick and easy sewing, so if you’re a last-minute crafter, these are for you!
First up are our Curious Bunnies. So cute, so quick! Carrie used some fluffy pom poms and our Fabric Palette felt for the little feet. No sewing, no pattern, just scale the feet to the size of your pompoms and use a glue gun. We sell felt in 80/20 Rayon-Wool blend that is wonderful to craft with.
The Easter Bunny bag is the free Little Dress Boutique Pleated Handbag pattern. A Stax bundle of 5 fat quarters makes the bag. Free-hand cut droopy ears, embroidery and a little pom-pom nose all were added before sewing in the lining. Make one to match your little girl’s Easter outfit, it works up really quickly!
With the left over fabrics, decoupage a few eggs! Using your favorite prints, cut strips and smooth over plastic eggs. Don’t stress about little bumps – just smooth out as you add strips. It’s all about the colors and enjoying your fabrics. They go from ordinary to eggs-tra-ordinary!
One more fast project! Bunnies love carrots and we have precuts in every orange you can imagine – these are just a few. Tip: If you haven’t started to collect orange fat quarters yet, don’t overlook them. The happy color deserves a little attention! Click here for our free carrot pattern to make your own bunny food.
Fabric Palette fat quarters and felt 12″ x 12″ squares are sold at AC Moore, Meier and online. Creative Cuts Stax bundles at Walmart. Similar bundles at Hobby Lobby. Pick some up today for your Easter crafting!
Happy Spring!
