Quick-Quilted Pillow
The holidays are here!
…you’re running out of time, but we’re here for you! Here’s a little DIY inspiration to brighten your day:
Pre-cut 2 1/2″ Strips are from a roll of twenty labeled Create It “Wonder”
Sold at your local Walmart, so pick some up on your next run through the store. There are fat quarters and 1-yard cuts too. The silver and gold are just the most wonderful shades that are trendy chic for any home. It’s not glitter (hope you’re okay with that, quilters , we listened to you…) The hand is so nice on this fabric! It will be your new favorite this winter, promise.
Flip & Sew
The strips were sewn quilt-as-you-go, or ‘flip & sew’ style on batting, add a muslin base if you like. Start in the middle and work out to the corners. The size is flexible to fit the pillow you already have, just cut the batting 2″ bigger, you can always trim or take a full 1/2″ seam putting the back on. A little extra quilting on the seams is all you need. If quilting is your thing, add lots of stitching. If you have some fancy stitches or alphabet embroidery on your machine, this is the time to show off on the neutral strips. Finish with a simple over-lap backing. Ta-da!
