Holiday Countdown
It has been a wonderfully creative year for us but now it’s October…
…the time of year to think about finishes. With a little planning, you’ll be able to enjoy the season! Make a list and then spend 15 minutes a day crafting. That’s all, just a little at a time – you can do it!
Halloween – 4 Weeks Away
October 31 is on a Thursday this year, so the kiddos may need a costume for school. That gives you four full weekends to sew up costumes and goodie bags and decorate inside and out. We can make it easy for you – look for iron-on glitter fabric sheets at Hobby Lobby or Fabric Expressions at JoAnn Fabrics. Perfect for a quick design on shirts or totes!
Free patterns like our Boo Banner will use up scraps. Need a quilt? Eleven fat quarters (actually you need 10 FQs + 2 more 8 1/2″ squares!) makes the Halloween Quilt top, a quick 48″ x 56″ throw size.
Thanksgiving – 8 Weeks
For many families, this is the favorite holiday of the year. we celebrate with food, football, walks in the Fall air, and connect by phone with family. It’s time for some homespun touches in your home. Checkout bundles of plaid at Hobby Lobby and rolled fall fat quarters at ACMoore Stores. Aren’t these colors fabulous?
Christmas – 12 Weeks Away
Handmade Holiday will be arriving soon at JoAnn Fabric. This year’s kit projects are an apron, pairs of pillows and more. Create something for yourself or for gifts, they’re easy sew and trendy enough for everyone on your list.
If you follow us on Facebook, you’ll see the new, free projects under the Create It line starting in Walmart stores. We’ll show you in quick, 1-2 minute inspirational videos, all the ‘Sew’ and ‘No-Sew’ projects. We can’t wait to share them, stay tuned! Keep stitching!
