Free Fabric DIY Projects

Today is a great day for sewing and crafting!  Take a look at the new projects!

A dozen new projects are free on our website!  On your next trip to Walmart, stop by the fabric department to see what’s new. That’s where you’ll find all of the pre-cut fabrics we used to create these fast projects.

It’s time for fast and easy projects, ones that you can enjoy all summer long. We designed a dozen fabric crafts to re-introduce you to the new, updated precuts at Walmart.  You’ll find some new fat quarter (18″ x 21″) designs,  updated 2 1/2″ Strips and 5″ Squares.  New flannel bundles in farmhouse plaid and marbeled tonals are wonderful! Several projects are no sew, you just have to know how to glue or iron.

For the kiddos, you’ll have to make the roll up Crayon Holder.  Designed for a road trip, it is a little smaller sized so there are fewer crayons to tote. With just three pattern pieces, it really is a quick sew project.

For your travels…

We made a set of three Zipper Bags and Luggage Tags.  The ‘Selena” strips would make a beautiful quilt, but I couldn’t wait to use them.  Next, the tags are made from a pack of 5″ Amari print squares.  They are quite easy if you start with fusible, firm Peltex and a square of clear vinyl. Tie one on all your bags so you can pick them out quickly.  Make a new Camera Strap from a fat quarter and clothesline.  A Headband Twist is easy to keep your hair neat this summer.

For friends…

A  Coffee Koozie  or a Fabric Pineapple makes a sweet gift.   Don’t forget your fur friends! They will be party ready in a reversible Doggie Scarf.

Wrap stretch canvas frames with our black & white prints to make Music Tiles for some quick wall art. Just download the full size patterns and you’re ready for fusible web applique. These would look great in a dorm room, too! One of our favorite new prints was used to cover a pot of cactus for the Llama Planter.  Super easy,  you’ll love it!

Hard-core crafters will have a digital die cutting machine in their craft center, and we hope you’re inspired to make the ‘Unicorn Dream Big Hoop” featuring our sparkling unicorn print.  The letters in dark purple are cut from the new 5″ Squares pack. In the pack are four squares each of purple, lime, blue, red and yellow, so colorful possibilities are endless!   Creating a Milestone Marker for every month of your new baby’s first year is a cinch on the machine, but we provide patterns for both to use with fusible web.
