Ornaments Using Make It Mine Fusible Fabric
Make It Mine Iron-on fabric letters are great for a quick DIY craft.
Today’s inspired idea – we’re making quick personalized tags. Bright letters are fused to heavy cardstock to use as gift tags and tree ornaments! These pre-fused fabric letters are found at Michael’s stores. Keep a pack on hand for all your personalized sewing and crafting – they’re a time saver!
There are 200 lower case letters, numbers and symbols in the Make It Mine pack. Here we used the “Alpha Lower Panel Brights” pack to spell out ‘santa’ on our ornaments. The fabric letters are pre-fused, so the iron does all the work to secure them to the cardstock. With a little baker’s string and jingle bells, they add a bit of fun to the tree or garland.
The letters will personalize a plain gift sack or tote quickly. Iron for 30 seconds to fuse and that’s it! Add a few initials, spell out a name, or have fun – #naughty or #nice or fa-la-la. Each letter is about 3″ tall, perfect for adding words to a patchwork pillow. A plain white pillowcase, also at Michaels, can be personalized quickly for a last minute gift. Sew around the letters to make it washable. Because the adhesive is already on the back of the cotton fabric, you can save the steps of searching for the right print, fusible web, font and tracing. A real time saver for the crafter!
The bright fun prints are colorful additions to the traditional reds and greens. Look for these other designs too – at Michael’s arts & crafts stores, with the embellishments and yarns. Perfect for personalized gifts this holiday season!
