Mother’s Day – Crafty Fabric Ideas
Need a quick handmade gift for Mom? Take a look at these easy fabric wrapped containers. They can be made by the youngest of crafters, with just a little help from a grown up! Fabric Editions pre-cut fabric designs are wrapped, glued or decoupaged to recycled cans, jars and a picture frame. If Mom sews or quilts, she will love receiving a gift made out of fabric!
Below, you can see how easy it is to make these organizers! Paint inside a little jelly jar with Nicole’s Acrylic Craft Paint; Ultimate Craft glue secures a fabric trim and twine bow. Measure and cut a strip of fabric to fit around a can, paint the edges with acrylic paint, then paint a layer of Mod Podge and adhere the fabric. A band of grosgrain ribbon was on hand in just the right color! The fabric wrapped picture frame is simply 1 1/2″ – 2 1/2″ strips. Secure with glue or a staple on the back, and start wrapping snuggly. Change colors in the back of the frame, securing ends with glue until set.
The quart canning jars were wrapped in fabric and burlap secured with craft glue. To hold the fabric strip around the center of the tall vase, use double stick tape. Craft glue secures the overlapped ends. Paint a band of glue around the edges of the fabric and on the glass, then working quickly, wrap twine and press into the glue to cover the edges.
