Halloween Quilt – Quick & Easy!
Just in time for Halloween, we have a free pattern to share with you!
Our fat-quarter friendly quilt can be made in a weekend. It’s so fast, you may want to make more than one! You’ll need 11 fat quarters from Wal-Mart’s 97-cent rolled fat quarters. This year we designed over 20 new prints and printed on 100% quilter’s-weight cotton. You’ll love working with these!
Simple 8 1/2″ squares are sewn in rows, then rows sewn together to make the top. Place the squares as we did, labeling and placing in order, or play around with your own layout. Pick the prints you like – happy pumpkins, scary skeletons, ghosts or candy – it’s your quilt!

The instructions are beginner friendly. There are diagrams for cutting, assembly and even how we made the backing so you don’t have to guess. You’ll need 2 1/4 yards. When you’re ready to quilt, try our walking-foot zig-zag that looks like a witch’s hat design. It gives good coverage and goes super-fast.
You’ll find the fat quarters in box-outs at Wal-Mart’s fabric department. The free pattern is here on the Fabric Edition’s website. The little ones will like to play eye-spy or matching games, too. Set aside a little sewing time for this trick or treat quilt. Halloween will be here soon!
