Holiday Wreath Inspiration

Here it is, Thanksgiving week already. One of the things we are thankful for is our wonderful sewing, crafting and quilting friends.  We hope you are inspired by our projects and fabrics, and that you’ll enjoy making them.  Melissa W. from Westbrook, Maine crafted this amazing wreath from our instructions and one of our “Elements” fabric rolls.  Isn’t it fabulous?

She added some copper-colored tulle and her own special touch – mini lights! What a wonderful greeting for your Thanksgiving door, we love it!

The “Elements’ pre-cut fabrics are now called Fabric Rolls and Bundles at JoAnn’s fabrics. You’ll find bundles of five fat quarters, and 20 strips, 2 1/2″ x 42”, two each of 10 designs. Some prints have metallics on them, gold or silver, for a luscious bit of sparkle. These have been favorites for landscape and art quilts; many designs look like water, granite or sky. Here’s a few samples of the newest colorways:

You may already have a roll or bundle in your stash, just waiting for the right project. If not, JoAnn’s quilt department will have just what you need.  Melissa has inspired me to think about a hot pink or purple Christmas wreath – something not-so-traditional this year, just so I could use those beautiful colors.  If you want to make your own, click here for the instructions, substituting the strips for cutting your own pieces. Thank you Melissa, we’re grateful that you took the time to share!  Happy Thanksgiving!
