Quilt Blocks – Introducing Laceflower

Quilt Blocks would like to introduce “Laceflower” – the long awaited quilt kits are finally in Jo-Ann stores!

Quilt Blocks Laceflower

Our designers have created some wonderful quilts in past, but this one has my attention. The grey, butter yellow and minty-turquoise has me picking new paint colors for the walls. (If you only knew how long my walls have been the same color, you’d know how serious this is.) I’m loving this quilt!

Here’s the Laceflower story:  To make the 84″ x 94″ quilt, there are 12 block kits and a Setting Kit. The 12 block kits have pre-cut pieces and full color instructions to make a 12 ½” square block. The Setting Kit finishes the quilt top. This year there are many extra pieces in it, like the center star and applique. The star is a giant 36 ½” design, surrounded by two borders. Be sure to pick up a Setting Kit this year, don’t delay.

There is an optional applique included to make your beautiful pieced quilt extra special. Hand or machine appliqued stems and leaves can be added on the setting blocks and center star. The kit has the fabric already included, so you don’t have worry about finding the matching fabric when you decide to add the option. It’s already in the kit!

You’ll need binding, batting and a backing to complete your quilt. Many of our return Quilt Blocks quilters know to look on line for a backing/binding kit, which isn’t in stores.  All of the fabrics used in the quilt are shown on the back of block kits 1-12, with article numbers to order right from JoAnn Fabrics. The backing requires 6 ½ yards, just in case you’re ready to order now.

The designer’s suggested quilting is also included. Straight lines and simple leaf shapes can be easily marked for quilting on your own machine.

If you are ready to make your first quilt or have been anxiously awaiting a new Quilt Blocks design,  Laceflower is now in the stores and on line. Happy Quilting!_DSC8735
