Easy Christmas tea towels is the handmade gift that should be topping your gift list this year. Things that can be used right away and often are always a winner. Start with a pre-made tea towel, these are 18″ x 28″. Our Fabric Palette 2 1/2″ x 42″ strips in Christmas prints are in the Meier’s stores, or look for our holiday fat quarters at AC Moore, Hobby Lobby or Hancock Fabrics and cut your own.
Directions
First, trim your strip a little wider than your towel.
Press all the edges in 1/4″. Spray starch for a crisp edge, or rub a little glue stick under the seam allowance to hold it in place. Narrow fusible hem tape will also keep the band in place on your towel while you sew.
Sew with a simple straight stitch or try a blanket stitch. I’ve used a triple stitch here for a bold red line.
Add a little rick rack if you have it on hand.
Simply the right hostess gift for just about anyone on your list!
